Our Goal
The Alternative Breaks @ Stanford exposes students to complex social and cultural issues through a unique experiential learning course.
Our vision is to transform students into advocates of social change
Students will engage in the the service learning course during Winter Quarter followed by the 5-7 day trip during Spring Break 2022.
Meet Our Trip Leaders

Jonathan Laxamana
Pilipinx Issues
Jonathan is a sophomore at Stanford University planning to major in either bioengineering or electrical engineering with additional academic interests in public policy, Asian American Studies, and neuroscience.

Robert Castaneros
Pilipinx Issues
Robert is a sophomore, hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. On campus, he’s most involved with Mock Trial and PASU and is really passionate about Pilipino-American Issues and Asian-American issues. In his free time, he writes, reads, and sings.

Linh Dan Do
Asian American Issues
Linh Dan Do (she/her) is a sophomore studying Civil Engineering. She became involved in the Asian American Issues ASB her frosh year and has continued to be interested in my Asian American identity ever since then.

Eden Wang
Asian American Issues
Eden is a current junior majoring in Computer Science. He found a wonderful family through the 2020 ASB Program and wants to give back as a co-lead for the Asian American Issues ASB. Outside of ASB, he is also involved with Common Origins, AATP, and LTS.

Alex Little
The Soul of the City
Alex (he/they) is a senior from Opelousas, LA studying SymSys. He is deeply interested in music history and enjoys going on runs, photography, and playing basketball with friends.

Ayush Pandit
The Soul of the City
Ayush is a senior majoring in Bioengineering and minoring in Comparative Literature. He loves poetry, writing, music, science, and is fascinated by the power of activism.

Allen Huang
Just Corn and Cows?
Allen Huang (he/him) is a coterm at Stanford studying Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics. Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, he's excited to co-lead this ASB on the rural-urban divide, an issue dear to his heart, after having incredible experiences with the ASB program ever since freshman year.

Zac Stoor
Just Corn and Cows?
Zac (he/him) is a senior studying political science and modern languages. He is from a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan called Crystal Falls and is excited to be leading an ASB on rural issues this year. Outside of ASB, he is involved with SIG and building rural community on campus.
